The route, honestly explained

Nobody flies to Hvar; everybody arrives via Split, and the awkward part is the join. Split Airport is 30–35 minutes from the ferry port, the fast catamaran to Hvar Town takes about an hour, and the timetable thins dramatically outside July and August. Booked separately, that is three chances to miss something. Booked as one journey, we work backwards from the sailing you need, hold the car if your flight slips, and pick you up again on the Hvar side. For cars and larger groups the alternative is the Drvenik–Sućuraj ferry at the eastern end of the island.

Routes and journey times

Route Typical time Good to know
SPU → Split catamaran port 30–35 min Timed to the Jadrolinija or Krilo sailing you are booked on
Split → Hvar Town by fast catamaran ~1 h Foot passengers; several sailings daily in season
Hvar port → your hotel or villa 5–20 min Hvar Town, Milna, Dubovica and the Sveta Nedjelja side
SPU → Drvenik → Sućuraj (car ferry) ~1 h 30 + crossing The route to take if you need the car on the island
Hvar → Stari Grad ferry terminal ~25 min For the Split car ferry rather than the catamaran
Return: Hvar → SPU planned to your flight Booked in the same enquiry, with the earlier sailing reserved

Local knowledge

Two things that catch people out. Stari Grad and Hvar Town are different ports on the same island, twenty-five minutes apart — the car ferry from Split goes to the first and the fast catamaran to the second, and tickets are not interchangeable. And the last catamaran back to Split leaves earlier than most dinner reservations, so if you are flying out in the morning it is usually the night before that you need to move, not the day itself.

What every transfer includes

Frequently asked questions

How do I get from Split Airport to Hvar?

Car to the Split catamaran port (30–35 minutes), then about an hour by fast catamaran to Hvar Town. We book the whole chain as one door-to-door transfer.

What happens if my flight is late and I miss the sailing?

We track the flight and move you to the next available sailing, and the driver waits. Telling us your flight number at booking is what makes that possible.

Can I bring a car to Hvar?

Yes, but by car ferry — Split to Stari Grad, or Drvenik to Sućuraj. Say so when you enquire and we will route you accordingly.

Is the catamaran ticket included?

We quote it separately and clearly, because the price and timetable are set by the ferry operators. Everything on the road side is fixed.

Do you operate to Hvar out of season?

Yes, though the sailings drop to a couple a day from November to March. We plan the transfer around whatever is running.

What Our Passengers Say

Nine journeys, nine happy passengers — from midnight landings to island ferry connections.

We landed at Split just before midnight and the driver was right there in the hall with a sign, car already cold outside. After a delayed flight and two hours on the tarmac, that calm ride into town was worth every cent.

Sarah M., London

Dubrovnik's old town is all steps and no cars, which I had not thought about. Our driver got us as close as the rules allow and carried both cases to the apartment door. Small thing, enormous difference.

Ingrid S., Oslo

Two kids, four suitcases, Split Airport to Makarska. Child seats fitted without being asked twice, cold water in the door, and the driver stopped for ten minutes when our youngest went green on the coast road.

Emma & Tom R., Dublin

Our flight into Split was an hour late and I was sure we had lost the Hvar catamaran. They had already moved us to the next sailing and the driver was waiting. Nobody panicked except me.

Marco V., Milan

Booked a full day to Plitvice from Zagreb. He dropped us at the right entrance for our ticket, waited four hours with the luggage, and had the car cool when we came out. Far better than the coach.

Anna K., Berlin

Our wedding party moved between the church and two venues near Trogir in an S-Class and a V-Class. Everything on time, everyone unwrinkled in the August heat. Flawless.

Nina & Lars H., Bergen

Dubrovnik to Split with stops at Ston for the walls and the oysters. Since the new bridge there is no border queue at all, and the driver knew exactly where to pull in. The best day of the trip.

Sophie D., Paris

I use them for every business trip to Zagreb. Same driver most visits, invoices without asking, and a fixed price that ignores the morning traffic on the airport road. Effortless.

Peter W., New York

I book them for my parents whenever they fly. The driver meets them inside the terminal, carries everything and drives gently. My mother now refuses to travel any other way.

Ivana P., Zadar
