Trogir is closer to Split Airport than Split is: about 6 km, ten minutes, and you are crossing the bridge onto a walled medieval island that UNESCO listed in 1997. Plenty of travellers who booked Split for the flight end up staying here instead, and the transfer is so short that the argument for a fixed price is really an argument about the last hundred metres — the old town is pedestrian, the marina end gets congested in season, and the right drop-off point depends entirely on which gate your apartment sits behind.

Trogir works best as a base for people who want Dalmatia without Split’s crowds: the airport on the doorstep, the beaches of Čiovo over the bridge, and Split itself half an hour away when you want it. In high summer the Čiovo bridge is the local bottleneck — if you are staying in Okrug, an early or late transfer avoids twenty minutes of queueing for a two-minute crossing.
