The route, honestly explained

Franjo Tuđman Airport sits at Pleso, about 17 km south-east of central Zagreb, and the run into town takes roughly 25 minutes outside the morning rush. Zagreb is the one Croatian airport where the airport bus is genuinely good — but it goes to one place, the main bus station, and if your hotel is in the Upper Town or you are landing at 23:30 with a connecting drive to the coast in the morning, a car that goes to your door is a different proposition. It is also where most long-distance Croatian journeys begin: Plitvice is two hours south, Zadar two and a half.

Local knowledge

Zagreb is a city that most people short-change with one night before the coast. If that is your plan, at least ask the driver to drop you at the top of Tkalčićeva rather than at the hotel door — the street is the point. In winter the airport road can hold fog well past nine in the morning, which is the one local condition that genuinely moves journey times; we build it into the pick-up when we quote a winter departure.

How far is Zagreb Airport from the city?

About 17 km. The transfer takes roughly 25 minutes, or 35–40 in the weekday morning peak.

Is a private transfer better than the airport bus?

The bus is good value if your hotel is near the main bus station and you are travelling light. For a door-to-door drop, a late arrival, a family with luggage or an onward drive, the car wins.

Can you drive us from Zagreb to Plitvice or the coast?

Yes — those long-distance runs are a large part of what we do. Zagreb to Plitvice is about two hours, Zagreb to Zadar about two and a half.

Do you handle corporate accounts?

What about winter conditions?

All vehicles run winter tyres in season. Fog is the usual delay at ZAG and we build the margin into the pick-up time rather than into the price.
