The route, honestly explained

Zadar’s airport at Zemunik is barely 8 km from the peninsula, which makes this one of the shortest airport transfers in Europe: 15–20 minutes, most of it on a straight road. That brevity is exactly why the fixed price matters — short routes are where metered fares and low-cost-carrier arrival surges combine worst. Zadar is also the most convenient airport for Plitvice from the coast, closer than Split and much closer than Zagreb.

Routes and journey times

Route Typical time Good to know
ZAD → Zadar old town (peninsula) 15–20 min Sea organ, forum, and the pedestrian zone drop-off
ZAD → Petrčane / Zaton / Nin 25–35 min The resort and campsite strip north of the city
ZAD → Plitvice Lakes ~1 h 30 The closest coastal airport to the park
ZAD → Krka National Park (Skradin) ~1 h Waterfalls without the Plitvice drive
ZAD → Šibenik ~1 h Continuing down the coast
ZAD → Split airport or city ~1 h 30 Useful for open-jaw flight bookings

Local knowledge

Zadar keeps its best trick for the evening: the sea organ and the Greeting to the Sun sit together on the western tip, and the sunset there earned the city Hitchcock’s much-quoted compliment. Plan the arrival so you are not still checking in when it happens. If you are heading to Plitvice, going up from Zadar rather than down from Zagreb saves an hour each way and gets you to the gate before the coach parties.

What every transfer includes

  • Meet & greet — name sign inside arrivals, luggage handled, air conditioning already running.
  • Fixed price — quoted before you travel; tolls, waiting time and luggage included.
  • Flight tracking — early or late, your driver adjusts automatically, with 60 minutes of free waiting.
  • Luxury Mercedes — sedans for up to three, V-Class vans for seven, Sprinter minibuses for sixteen.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the Zadar Airport transfer take?

Only 15–20 minutes to the old town — the airport is about 8 km away.

Is it worth booking a car for such a short trip?

For that exact reason, yes: short trips are where fares get inflated, and a fixed quote plus a driver holding your name sign removes the whole negotiation.

Can we go straight from Zadar Airport to Plitvice?

Yes, about an hour and a half direct to Entrance 1 or 2. It is the fastest approach to the park from any coastal airport.

Do you serve the campsites and resorts at Zaton and Petrčane?

Yes, along with Nin and the whole northern strip — give us the pitch or apartment number and the driver will find it.

Are late-night low-cost arrivals covered?

Yes. Zadar has a lot of them in summer and they are entirely routine for us, with free waiting from actual landing time.

What Our Passengers Say

Nine journeys, nine happy passengers — from midnight landings to island ferry connections.

We landed at Split just before midnight and the driver was right there in the hall with a sign, car already cold outside. After a delayed flight and two hours on the tarmac, that calm ride into town was worth every cent.

Sarah M., London

Dubrovnik's old town is all steps and no cars, which I had not thought about. Our driver got us as close as the rules allow and carried both cases to the apartment door. Small thing, enormous difference.

Ingrid S., Oslo

Two kids, four suitcases, Split Airport to Makarska. Child seats fitted without being asked twice, cold water in the door, and the driver stopped for ten minutes when our youngest went green on the coast road.

Emma & Tom R., Dublin

Our flight into Split was an hour late and I was sure we had lost the Hvar catamaran. They had already moved us to the next sailing and the driver was waiting. Nobody panicked except me.

Marco V., Milan

Booked a full day to Plitvice from Zagreb. He dropped us at the right entrance for our ticket, waited four hours with the luggage, and had the car cool when we came out. Far better than the coach.

Anna K., Berlin

Our wedding party moved between the church and two venues near Trogir in an S-Class and a V-Class. Everything on time, everyone unwrinkled in the August heat. Flawless.

Nina & Lars H., Bergen

Dubrovnik to Split with stops at Ston for the walls and the oysters. Since the new bridge there is no border queue at all, and the driver knew exactly where to pull in. The best day of the trip.

Sophie D., Paris

I use them for every business trip to Zagreb. Same driver most visits, invoices without asking, and a fixed price that ignores the morning traffic on the airport road. Effortless.

Peter W., New York

I book them for my parents whenever they fly. The driver meets them inside the terminal, carries everything and drives gently. My mother now refuses to travel any other way.

Ivana P., Zadar
