The route, honestly explained

Pula’s airport is small, close and quiet — about 6 km north-east of the city, ten to fifteen minutes door to door. Its real value is as the entrance to Istria, the peninsula where Croatia turns Italian: Rovinj’s harbour forty minutes away, Poreč just under an hour, and the hill towns of Motovun and Grožnjan sitting above the truffle woods behind them. Public transport between those places is thin, so this is the airport where a pre-booked car changes the shape of a trip most.

Routes and journey times

Route Typical time Good to know

PUY → Poreč ~55 min Resorts and the Euphrasian basilica
PUY → Motovun / Grožnjan ~50 min Hill towns and truffle country

Local knowledge

Istria is best treated as a driving region with a beach attached. The interior — Motovun, Buzet, the Mirna valley — is a forty-minute detour from almost anywhere on the coast, and in autumn the truffle season makes that detour the entire reason for the trip. Ask about a half-day chauffeured loop rather than a plain transfer; it is the same car and driver, just booked by the hour.

What every transfer includes

  • Meet & greet — name sign inside arrivals, luggage handled, air conditioning already running.
  • Fixed price — quoted before you travel; tolls, waiting time and luggage included.
  • Flight tracking — early or late, your driver adjusts automatically, with 60 minutes of free waiting.
  • Luxury Mercedes — sedans for up to three, V-Class vans for seven, Sprinter minibuses for sixteen.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Pula Airport from the city?

About 6 km — a 10 to 15 minute drive.

How long from Pula Airport to Rovinj?

Roughly 40 minutes on a good road. It is the most-booked route from PUY after the city itself.

Can you take us to the Istrian hill towns?

Yes. Motovun and Grožnjan are about 50 minutes, and many guests book a chauffeur by the hour to link several of them in a day.

Do you cross into Slovenia or Italy?

Yes, with notice — Trieste is about two hours and Venice airport about three and a half. Tell us at the time of booking so the paperwork is in order.

Is the airport open all year?

Traffic is heavily seasonal, but we operate year-round and will meet any scheduled or private arrival.

What Our Passengers Say

Nine journeys, nine happy passengers — from midnight landings to island ferry connections.

We landed at Split just before midnight and the driver was right there in the hall with a sign, car already cold outside. After a delayed flight and two hours on the tarmac, that calm ride into town was worth every cent.

Sarah M., London

Dubrovnik's old town is all steps and no cars, which I had not thought about. Our driver got us as close as the rules allow and carried both cases to the apartment door. Small thing, enormous difference.

Ingrid S., Oslo

Two kids, four suitcases, Split Airport to Makarska. Child seats fitted without being asked twice, cold water in the door, and the driver stopped for ten minutes when our youngest went green on the coast road.

Emma & Tom R., Dublin

Our flight into Split was an hour late and I was sure we had lost the Hvar catamaran. They had already moved us to the next sailing and the driver was waiting. Nobody panicked except me.

Marco V., Milan

Booked a full day to Plitvice from Zagreb. He dropped us at the right entrance for our ticket, waited four hours with the luggage, and had the car cool when we came out. Far better than the coach.

Anna K., Berlin

Our wedding party moved between the church and two venues near Trogir in an S-Class and a V-Class. Everything on time, everyone unwrinkled in the August heat. Flawless.

Nina & Lars H., Bergen

Dubrovnik to Split with stops at Ston for the walls and the oysters. Since the new bridge there is no border queue at all, and the driver knew exactly where to pull in. The best day of the trip.

Sophie D., Paris

I use them for every business trip to Zagreb. Same driver most visits, invoices without asking, and a fixed price that ignores the morning traffic on the airport road. Effortless.

Peter W., New York

I book them for my parents whenever they fly. The driver meets them inside the terminal, carries everything and drives gently. My mother now refuses to travel any other way.

Ivana P., Zadar
