What is a private airport transfer?

A private airport transfer is a pre-booked luxury car with a professional chauffeur that takes you directly from the arrivals hall to your hotel, apartment or villa — no taxi rank, no shuttle that stops at eleven other properties first, no working out which bus goes near your street. Your driver watches your flight, meets you inside the terminal with a name sign and carries your luggage to a cool, waiting car. Guests who want the full arrival can travel by S-Class limousine instead.

Croatia makes this more useful than most countries for one structural reason: the good bits are spread out and the old towns are pedestrian. Every arrival ends with a decision about how close a vehicle can actually get, and that decision is much better made in advance by someone who drives it weekly.

The airports we serve

Airport Distance to centre Typical transfer
Split (SPU), at Resnik ~24 km 30–35 min to the Riva; 10 min to Trogir
Dubrovnik (DBV), at Čilipi ~20 km 25–30 min to Pile Gate
Zagreb Franjo Tuđman (ZAG) ~17 km ~25 min to the Lower Town
Zadar (ZAD), at Zemunik ~8 km 15–20 min to the peninsula
Pula (PUY) ~6 km 10–15 min to Pula; ~40 min to Rovinj
Rijeka (RJK), on Krk island ~30 km ~45 min to Rijeka; ~55 to Opatija

What is included, every time

  • Meet & greet inside arrivals — a name sign in the hall, not a phone call from a car park.
  • Flight tracking — the pick-up moves with your flight, with 60 minutes of free waiting from actual landing.
  • A fixed, all-inclusive price — vehicle, driver, fuel, motorway tolls, waiting and luggage.
  • Child seats free of charge — fitted correctly when you tell us the ages at booking.
  • Simple payment — card or company invoice.

Ferries, islands and the awkward joins

A Croatian holiday often has a boat in the middle of it. We plan airport-to-ferry transfers backwards from the sailing rather than optimistically towards it, and we hold the car when a flight is late — see the Hvar transfer page for how that works in practice. The same applies to the cruise terminals at Gruž and Split.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book?

Twenty-four hours is comfortable; in July and August a few days is wiser, especially for larger vehicles. Same-day requests are usually possible — message us on WhatsApp for the fastest answer.

Is a private transfer more expensive than a taxi?

Often it is similar, and it is always predictable. The difference is that the price is agreed in writing before you travel and does not respond to traffic, luggage, night hours or the season.

Do you operate outside the summer?

Year-round, at the same prices. Winter arrivals are quieter and the drives are faster.

Can you meet a cruise ship instead of a flight?

Yes. Gruž in Dubrovnik and the Split terminal are routine pick-ups; give us the ship and the docking time.

What size groups can you take?

Up to three in a sedan, seven in a V-Class van and sixteen in a Sprinter minibus. Larger parties are handled with multiple vehicles departing together.

What Our Passengers Say

Nine journeys, nine happy passengers — from midnight landings to island ferry connections.

We landed at Split just before midnight and the driver was right there in the hall with a sign, car already cold outside. After a delayed flight and two hours on the tarmac, that calm ride into town was worth every cent.

Sarah M., London

Dubrovnik's old town is all steps and no cars, which I had not thought about. Our driver got us as close as the rules allow and carried both cases to the apartment door. Small thing, enormous difference.

Ingrid S., Oslo

Two kids, four suitcases, Split Airport to Makarska. Child seats fitted without being asked twice, cold water in the door, and the driver stopped for ten minutes when our youngest went green on the coast road.

Emma & Tom R., Dublin

Our flight into Split was an hour late and I was sure we had lost the Hvar catamaran. They had already moved us to the next sailing and the driver was waiting. Nobody panicked except me.

Marco V., Milan

Booked a full day to Plitvice from Zagreb. He dropped us at the right entrance for our ticket, waited four hours with the luggage, and had the car cool when we came out. Far better than the coach.

Anna K., Berlin

Our wedding party moved between the church and two venues near Trogir in an S-Class and a V-Class. Everything on time, everyone unwrinkled in the August heat. Flawless.

Nina & Lars H., Bergen

Dubrovnik to Split with stops at Ston for the walls and the oysters. Since the new bridge there is no border queue at all, and the driver knew exactly where to pull in. The best day of the trip.

Sophie D., Paris

I use them for every business trip to Zagreb. Same driver most visits, invoices without asking, and a fixed price that ignores the morning traffic on the airport road. Effortless.

Peter W., New York

I book them for my parents whenever they fly. The driver meets them inside the terminal, carries everything and drives gently. My mother now refuses to travel any other way.

Ivana P., Zadar
